Each summer the Epicosity office gets a little fuller and, honestly, a lot more fun.
Why, you ask?
Because it's intern season!
And at Epicosity, we champion growth for both our clients and our interns.
So, you want to intern at a digital agency like Epicosity?
Whether you're a student, a marketer, a friend of our interns or just a fan of agency life, this one's for you.
This summer we want to give you real advice and a real look into what agency life at Epicosity is all about, from a group of interns who strive to learn, ask questions and grow.
Graduated from SDSU with a Bachelor’s in Advertising with minors in Digital & Social Media, and Marketing. 🐰
What Epicosity Taught Me
"Epicosity taught me what it's like to work with a variety of clients, creating strategies and content ideas that correlate to each of their goals. It's so fun to meet with clients who have different goals, strategies and pain points.
Before this, I had only dealt with in-house marketing. So, at Epicosity, I've been learning how to work across a vast variety of industries and learning how to create campaigns and content that works for them."
Biggest Internship Surprise?
"Working at Epicosity, I've gotten to work with new tools, industries and departments!
Every day is different, which I love.
One day I might be meeting with Helluva Container and the next day it's the Sioux Falls Regional Airport or even a content shoot at the casino (a client of ours of course).
Bonus points, because it's given me an opportunity to meet people from different backgrounds and industries!"
One Real Tip for a Student?
"My biggest internship tip is to be open to learning and asking questions. That's how you truly learn! School gives you the tools, but agencies and in-house marketing give you the experience.
Plus, eventually you'll start to get the confidence to do skills you've never done before, on your own!
A favorite part of being an intern is that you are given an opportunity to learn from real people who have years of experience.”
Your Champion Moment?
“I’m proud of the strategy that I’ve built for different clients – and even for this blog! It's been such an enjoyable learning experience to be able to work with clients across different industries on content, ideation and overall strategy building.
For example, I got to assist in building strategies and ideation for Century Bank New Mexico!"

What Epicosity Taught Me
“Epicosity has taught me a lot of things, first how the departments collaborate within different projects for different tasks for clients – the whole agency ecosystem is interesting.
And, how important a good work environment and crew is, Epicosity is very welcoming and makes you want to work 10x harder for them!”
Biggest Internship Surprise?
“I think it’s the amount of projects, tasks and departments you get to work with.
And not everything you learn in school will translate directly to an agency, especially when all agencies weren't created equal and they're all different.
Also, the amount of productivity and effort you need to put into things, because it's your priority to make sure the clients get the deliverables they need. And when you aren't on a timeline that's as defined or tight as it is during school, I think that's a skill that's important to have in the agency world.”
One Real Tip for a Student?
“For interns and experience, it’s important to see the whole picture of the agency.
You will have a desired position and department but, if you can see the whole picture and you build skills around that whole picture, then you become a more qualified applicant.
Just, don’t be afraid to grow outside your comfort zone!”
Your Champion Moment?
“I’m proud of being involved in client relations because it’s very rewarding when you see their reactions to what our team can do for them.
But I also think, internally, just being able to have the responsibility of managing accounts and updating tasks to help the team out and give them more structure for their work week, has been really rewarding!”

What Epicosity Taught Me?
“Epicosity taught me how to work across different departments all with different people doing different jobs!
I’ve gotten to work with client work and had never worked with movement or display ads before my internship and now I feel like I’ve been doing that a lot!”
Biggest Internship Surprise?
“I’ve never worked in an office setting before, but it’s surprising how close you get to these people.
An internship is more than about getting coffee and errands (which is what I first thought), but it’s about doing the work that other people are doing around you while having support.
Just not as daunting as I thought!”
Your Champion Moment?
“One of my first projects was working on the Epicosity social and doing our own carousel graphic – ‘what makes us not a normal agency.'
It’s my favorite one because right off the bat I didn’t know how creative we could get... but I really got to have fun with it creatively!”
One Real Tip for a Student?
“Don’t take it… and yourself so seriously.
I think when you take yourself too seriously you hold yourself back too much. Because everyone was where you were at some point.”

“As a student, all I wanted was an agency where I could learn across departments, have every day be different, work with clients and be part of a healthy culture (that likes a good block walk) — and Epicosity has all of that!”
“You will learn so much, I think Epicosity is super welcoming – we have a bar, a swing, mini golf… but also the experience and the information you will gain in that experience is invaluable.”
“Because it’s EPIC, and you can don’t feel too overwhelmed to work on your ambitions and feel like you are moving your career in a good direction!”
