The Goal
When it comes to credit union marketing, you are the communities you serve. And when the region you call home is as uniquely itself as California's Central Coast, it takes marketing messaging that's authentic and distinctly identifiable. With 11 branch locations throughout Santa Cruz County and through Ventura County, CoastHills Credit Union needed to attract new members while standing out from a wide range of competition.
The Story Behind “Banking the Central Coast Way”
California’s Central Coast offers a particular type of lifestyle — so when we were approached by CoastHills Credit Union for a new branding effort, it felt especially natural to inject this energy into the theming. Depicting the way those living on the Central Coast value their work and play time in equal measure, we developed a brand-awareness campaign that summarized this region’s way of life with this very duality — after all, it’s the Central Coast way.
Highlighting some of the area’s greatest hallmarks — farmer’s markets, wineries and the iconic Morro Rock, we tapped into the authenticity of what it means to live — and bank — on the Central Coast. With Coast Hills Credit Union central to enabling this work-play lifestyle, as the means to financial freedom.
The Solutions
In collaboration with Several Guys, a broadcast TV spot has been meticulously developed to address various verticals within our comprehensive campaign.
Encompassing facets such as brand awareness, online banking, checking services, auto loans, business banking, credit cards, membership referrals, and the grand openings of new branches, this campaign demonstrates a broad spectrum of initiatives. Notably, the campaign brand styling is distinguished by the incorporation of two "hills" design elements, providing a unifying and aesthetically refined identity to the diverse array of endeavors undertaken.






The Results
From 2019 to 2020, CoastHills Credit Union saw an increase in website traffic from email marketing.
In one year, CoastHills Credit Union saw 139.6% increase in website page views.
From 2019 to 2020, CoastHills Credit Union experienced a 92% increase in website traffic from organic search.
